The Air Vane is designed for small diameter arrows shot at long distances and it has quickly become Bohning's #1 selling vane for Fita and Field Archery. We also recommend it for 3D when shooting with small diameter arrows. It's a great choice for compound and recurve shooters alike as its low profile minimizes contact with the arrow rest, and its small surface area reduces the effects of crosswind drift. The Air Vane measures 2" (50.8mm) in length, 0.3" (7.6mm) in height and weighs 4.5 grains (292mg). Like all Bohning vanes, the base of the Air Vane is pre-primed for optimal adhesion. A little history of the development of the Air Vane: In 2015 Bohning teamed up with world-class archers Pierre-Julien Deloche and Dominique Genet in the development of a new outdoor vane for longer distances and volatile weather conditions. Genet specifically wanted the same low-profile as the Ice Vane but with an X-Vane inspired tail as those are the two vanes he had obtained the best results with. During the summer of 2015, the prototype was created and sent to Genet and Deloche. They fletched the vanes at 2? to 3? angles, using them during practice and tournaments for the remainder of the outdoor season. The results being what everyone had hoped for, Bohning decided to add the Air Vane to its line of target vanes. Proudly manufactured at the Bohning Factory in Lake City, Michigan, United States.
Very strong vane .easy to place helical on your shaft .my choice was lightweight and maybe 4 feather setup.
Zero flutter and sticks perfectly.
I have shot these through targets and they straighten back up instantly.
Been really happy with them and will continue to use them for many years
I have loved using the Air Vanes for a few years now on all of my small diameter outdoor target arrows! They are a dream to apply, with easy adhesion when paired with the Blazer Bond. For me, this is a winning combination...super consistent results and great groups at all distances.
Best for wind and rain , not effected in wind
I put Bohning air vanes on all my 3D arrows. They are tough, low profile, and just stiff enough to make my arrows fly awesome. I'm thinking of trying them in a 4 fletch configuration for my hunting arrows.
the shape and design is significantly good, as improvement i can say if its been little bit lighter would be more effective.
Got these for my tiny 1.66 arrows. Best vanes on the market.
Won't use anything else on my field arrows. Tough, easy to install and NO PRIMER!
These vanes are super light and help arrows flight far. Even in windy conditions, the arrows have a linear pathway.
